All the schools below use the GL examination process.

The Grammar Schools in Birmingham are made up of the following eight schools:

Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School for Boys
King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School ( girls)
King Edward VI Aston School ( boys)
King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys
King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls
King Edward VI Five Ways School ( boys and girls)
King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls
Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls

Many children from the Birmingham area attend the Queen Mary Schools as these are located close to Birmingham.

Applications for the boys’ and girls’ schools are now completed through the West Midlands Grammar Schools consortium, which includes one 11+ exam for all of the West Midlands.
